Tell me more about the Alpine Dancers!

The Alpine Dancers G.T.E.V. Edelweiss is a non-profit organization and raise money by performing our dances and selling authentic German food at a variety of local Oktoberfests and through corporate and local sponsors.  All funds raised by the club do towards purchasing new costumes for the children, travelling expenses, special group trips and many other fun activities.  We practice year-round in Garland, Texas.

Are there any special requirements to join?

We welcome people of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. To join, you do not have to be German, speak German or know anything about the Tirolean and Bavarian folk dances we perform.  We love teaching new dancers!

How much does it cost to participate?

There is a one-time membership fee of $50 per family, regardless of family size.  Each year, we collect dues of $25 per family, to encourage commitment to the the club and our efforts.

Are costumes provided?

All children’s costumes are provided by the group at no extra cost to the family.  Costumes for members of the adult group who are still attending school (including college) are also provided freely, on-loan from the group.  There is a nominal costume fee for adult members not currently enrolled in school.
